Cucumbers

The cucumber market is currently active but facing supply challenges. Georgia's season has ended, and production in North Carolina and Kentucky is low due to rain and poor quality. Mexico is also experiencing limited volume with inconsistent quality due to rain. Some relief is expected in about 10 days when Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Michigan begin production.

Lemons

District 2 in California is in full swing now and amply volume should last through September. Smaller lemons 165s and up, continue to be tight as the heat has pushed the fruit toward larger sizing. Both Mexico and imports from South America are pulling strong numbers.

Lettuce

Iceberg supply and quality remain a concern with disease pressure affecting yield. Quality issues like tip and fringe burn continue to be monitored and removed during harvesting. The market is fluctuating depending on the day, but overall remains elevated.   

Peppers

Green bell pepper supplies remain tight across the market. Georgia's season is ending a week early, leaving mostly off-grade products available. North and South Carolina have limited supply, primarily larger sizes. Mexico is transitioning growing regions, leading to low volumes with moderate quality. California has product, but not enough to offset shortages on the East Coast. Relief is expected in two weeks when Kentucky begins harvesting, followed by New Jersey.

Potatoes

The market has tightened up as we near the end of the season for storage potatoes. Sheds are working to clear out space for the new harvest that are now rolling in.

Tomatoes

Tomato prices remain low due to an oversupply in the market. California and Mexico are delivering high volumes of quality product, while Tennessee is set to begin shipments in two weeks. This will further increase supply in an already saturated market.
